I'm Alive!!

Yes, I said "I'm". Thanks to everyone who was all concerned about me concidering all the flash floods and what-not here in Killeen. *listens for crickets* But yes, I'm alive and well. We got some pretty bad flooding, scary flooding, but we made it through. If ya wanna see the pics I took of our yard area, then you can check 'em out by clicking HERE . Kudos to my hubby who took a hammer to the cinderblocks under the shed (not load-bearing ones) to let the water out from under it so our crap didn't get wet. Kudos to me for not getting swept away in a street current since I kept having to go out in it.
My mom's surgery went well. She's progressing by leaps and bounds. I haven't uploaded the pics from that anywhere yet, but I do have some. No really gross ones with her filleted open, but one of her incision a day or so after.
Got two more crane prize pics uploaded to my album. Yes, I got two of those green horses with the bell in 'em. The second one came up with Dora when I was grabbing her. Totally inadvertant. I gave Dora to my niece. I actually got that one for her cuz her great-grandpa (on her fraternal side) hates Dora. On account of being Mexican (or whatever she is) and teaching kids Spanish. So, you know me, my own brand of sticking it to the establishment. *grins*
I just checked the walkthrough. I'm not too far behind on the neopets plot, but I am going to have to get to that tomorrow if I wanna keep up. I just do not feel like it today. 100+ e-mails kinda wore me out. It's been a long week and a half. "Honey do this, honey I need, could you please" I feel like I haven't gotten a decent night's sleep in weeks. Hell, I fell asleep in our chair twice. Aaron had to wake me up and make me get in bed. Luckily I woke up when the phone guy called.
I'm about sick of that Nano Baby. They are so much needier than Tamagotchis! I think I'm actually gonna take the batteries out when I get off the comp. Oh, and it did "grow". Twice. First into a walking 'baby', then it grew clothes and hair. Yay.
I guess that's it. Oh, except one last thing. The emergency room at Scott & White is way better than the one at Metroplex. I know it's far away, but I definetly prefer it. And I swear, if I ever get put in the position where I have to drive my sister's car again, I think I'll just walk. No matter the distance. *shudders*
One last thing (again), for anyone who doesn't know (and would like to), tonight is the blue moon. For some it's something special, for some it's novelty. Either way I just thought I'd share in case you didn't know and wanted to.

It's Alive!!

I was out searching for a Game Boy to take with me to help pass some of the time I'm going to be in the hospital. Unfortunately, that didn't pan out. *sigh* So I went searching through the shed for my virtual pets. I didn't find my big string of 'em (something like 20 I've got all together), but I did find a few loose ones. I couldn't get the backs off of the Tamagotchies, so those were out. Which left a Digimon and a Nano Baby. Digimon are more fun when someone else is raising one, so you can battle. And the Nano Baby wasn't really mine. My sister left it when she moved out, so I've never gotten to play it before. Last night, for the first time in probably 10 years, it had the sweet juice of electricity running through it's circuits. lmao So far it's about the same as most other virtual pets, except for one disgusting difference so far. When it poops, it really poops. Remember how the Tamagotchies would kind of squat down, move around a little and poop would just appear? Not this one, oh no. It crawls to the side and poo shoots from it's butt and piles up on the other side! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Not sure if it "grows up" at all, or how long it's supposed to live, but we'll see. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to set the time on it. Accidently reset it 5 times in the process.

I'm finally done with the third book. *Hurray* There were a couple times toward the end where I thought I was gonna get real upset, but no. lol Everyone's alive and well (as they can be) and on a sentient (mostly) train bound for Topeka. Kansas? I don't think so. lol I'd have been real upset if I didn't already have the 4th one, though. Helluvan ending. So many questions left unanswered.

P.S. - Sandy, you suck!

2013 Oracle and Prizes

Okay, my mom, quite possibly one of the biggest Christians I personally know, just got me what's called the "2013 Oracle". For those of you who don't know, either the Mayan or Aztec calendar ends in 2012 (December 20th or 21st, I believe). So that is one of the possibilites for the end of the world *as we know it*. This is supposed to be kinda like a tarot to help with this transitional period. I haven't really gotten to go through it (Goddess help me, it took almost a year to properly understand and utilize my regular tarot), but the premise is intriguing. The cards are small . . . maybe 2/3 the size of a regular deck of playing cards. I'll update more after I've gotten to work with them a little.

Also, just had to let y'all know that my Bubba is back! Aaron's been in kind of a slump with all the Spiderman 3 stuff in the crane games. He really wants one of those glove things. Last night we were at HEB and I stood there, dead set on feeding that machine quarters until he grabbed something. Only took 3 tries and he got one of those dronkies from Shrek 3! He woulda had it on the 2nd try, but it slipped. I'm so happy! Also happy cuz I finally got one of those dogs with the long necks and huge eyeballs! (2 tries for that one too) They're so cute!

Also, a couple nights ago I got Reggie . . . remember, from the Archie comics? Not my favorite character, but he was the only one in there and he was in prime grabbing position. The pic is in my album if you need a reminder. lol

Almost done with the 3rd book. They're in this city where everyone is sick (mentally and physically). They had to split up, but as soon as the gunslinger gets that kid back, I have a feeling all hell's gonna break loose. Of course, I may not know 'til the 5th book (the 4th is all flashback, remember?), but that's what I think is gonna happen.

Upcoming Month

Monday I'm going with my mom up to Metroplex. She finally got her way and is getting her knee replaced. *oy* I'm going to be at the hospital for a good portion of this coming week. Then I'll be spending most of my time driving her around for the next month and a half until her knee has proven itself reliable enough to handle the tasks of accelerating and braking without giving out. *yay* After that's over and done with I'll be doing what I gotta do to get the new job I'm going out for. Sorry guys and gals, no details will be given at this point. ^_^

MR evo is way cool. Not better than MR2 (which still kicks mad ass, yo), but now that I've gotten the hang of it, it's not so bad. The circus tricks are getting better and since the monsters in this one don't die, I don't have to worry so much about getting their stats up. Which, they actually go up pretty fast cuz they all go up at once. It's just a matter of which ones are emphasised. I like being able to create and mix & match my own props for shows and choosing which traits the monsters get. Only thing that really bugs me isn't really because of the game. Our 'station has a few issues (it is old after all) and for about 1/3 of the discs it won't read 'em properly and just spit out a Hare. Aaron's gotten about 20 pure bread hares.

Was reading through the 3rd Dark Tower book. I got so into it, pictures coming so easily into my mind that when I looked up to stretch my neck and then looked back down I was actually surprised to see words on the page instead of moving pictures! roflmao Got about 1/4 of this one left, then on to the 4th. *teehee* I can't wait to see what happens next . . . even though I know the 4th book is a flashback to the beginning part of the gunslinger's journey. A whole book dedicated to character development? Nice.

Book #3

(Note: This post originally had "100th Post" in the title, but there may be a few that don't make the cut and I don't need anyone calling me a liar over it)

Hrm. Kind of quiet around here. Everyone doing alright? I started the third Dark Tower book 2 days ago. Roland (the gunslinger) has his mini-posse together and has been training them to be gunslingers in their own rights. Turns out when he was in the process of gathering them, he saved the kid Jake while he was in his world and now the both of them are basically having their minds ripped apart. One half knows what happened (from the first book) and the other half knows it couldn't have happened because Roland changed the course of events so it didn't. I have a feeling the kid's going to hook back up with Roland at some point. Not sure how they're gonna fix the mental paradox time rip thing going on, but we'll see.

Not much of a 100th post there, huh? lol *shrugs* Oh, I finally picked up Monster Rancher Evo (thanks, Hun) and as soon as I'm done here I'll be working on that. It's really wierd. Not like regular Monster Rancher practically at all. You don't train normally. See, you're in a circus and you spend most of your time motivating the monsters before a show. During the show is when the monsters get their stat increases. They did add a different kind of "errentry" called Adventuring where you walk around in 3D world format to fight monsters and look for stuff. As part of that there are also guild missions you can do for money and items. All the monsters you've collected are kept in a book (like MR3), but I'm not sure if the pages are transferrable like they were in 3. I hope so. ^_^

Hopefully today I'll get my Snowbunny avatar. It's been a year and if I don't get it I'll be writing a nasty letter to TNT . . . maybe not that nasty. A little, though.

Ch~ch~ch~chia!

Lemon that is. lmao Okay, the JubJub I was working on turned Chia and today it turned lemon colored. See:

So I took it to the pound and went to find another JubJub and the pound is down for maintenance! Oh woe is me. roflmao At least I'm keeping up with the plot and that's the really important part. . . . as far as neopets is concerned. lol

Finally had a dream I remembered. I've been having a lot, but as soon as I wake up I'm all . . . . "Huh?" Last night's was wierd, though. I was on a regular school bus going to college. When I got there I had to make several trips from the bus to my dorm room and back and there was a lady from the college who kept following me around yelling at me and when I was on the bus there was a guy who kept messing with me. It was all very confusing.

Book #2 & Crane Story

I finished the first Dark Tower book yesterday and started on the second. The kid did die, but I guess it would be considered "negligence" and not outright homicide. Now he's drawing together 3 more people for the next part of his journey. The first guy was a junkie who actually has proved himself useful. The next one is a woman who, as far as I can figure so far, has two personalities. Not sure where he's going with it, but I can't wait to find out. I've read so many books (and seen a couple of movies) that were amazing, but really crapped out on the end. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter how amazing a story is, if the ending leaves you feeling gipped, then it was all a waste. *cough*CityofAngels*cough* Stephen King hasn't let me down yet, and I'm not expecting him to this time around.

Last night we went to H-E-B to pick up some food. We were a little dejected cuz we hadn't won anything at Wal*Mart and when we saw a little black spider-man in the little crane game (same one that started it all), Aaron wasn't even wanting to try. "We've spent too much on these already" I knew, though, from looking at it, that it would be an easy kill . . . I mean catch. So after we got the groceries I told him to just give me a dollar and I'd see what I could do. I wasn't even thinking of the possibility that I would get it on the first try, so when I did I kinda panicked and nabbed first thing I saw that was on top. It's cute, and it's got a bell in it, so I told my mom to go ahead and give it to Colleen (my sister's kid). We've got so many of these toys now I crocheted a net for 'em, so now they're all hanging in the corner above the bed. lol Keeps 'em all in one place. Aaron likes it cuz we have the Spider-Mans (Spider-Men?) dangling off of it. lmao

I just really wish we could get one of those Spider-Man glove thingies out of the one at Wal*Mart. I think it's taunting me. . . .

The Dark Tower

I love Stephen King books. I love 'em. Started back in HS when Joseph let me borrow "Needful Things" and I've been hooked ever since. I knew that he had written the 'Dark Tower' series, but didn't give 'em much thought since I knew they weren't horror/thriller/suspense type books. Then in one of the short story compilation books, one of the short stories was based off of the Dark Tower books. I read it, and I liked it. I thought to myself, "Well, I guess I could give 'em a shot." Of course, being a series, I wanted to start with the first book and I couldn't ever find it! I checked stores and libraries, the only place I could find it was online, which really didn't do me much good. About a month or so ago, my mom got one of those little order form thingies that had the whole series in there. I told her that if she just had to get something, she could get me the first two and then I could work from there. This crazy woman bought the whole bloody series! (Saved $40 or something by ordering 'em all together) So now I have 7 books to plow through. lmao I'm about halfway through the first one (Hey, only took me 2 1/2 days to read "Cell") and I'm liking it. It took a while to get the hang of how things worked, since it's not present-day Earth based, but I think I've got it pretty well figured out. I'm wondering if he's really gonna sacrifice that kid . . . . .

I'm Back! ~*~Updates~*~

It's been a while, but I'm back. All that rain we got knocked out our phone, so we were without internet for a couple of days. It was actually kind of nice. lol Went out to the lake/island area. If you wanna see what it looks like now, for those of you who moved away, I uploaded the pics I took into My Photobucket account. Check 'em out. If you'll notice in the 3rd and 4th from last, the whole shoreline is covered with branches. We couldn't even get close to the water. Even if we could have, it had just poured, so getting to the island would have required bathing suits. (Yes, Sandy, I know we used to just say water be damned and swim in our clothes, but it's not quite the same) In pic 10, you can see the island. See how small it is? That's how much it rained. Next chance I get I'm going out to the trails and getting some pics from out there. I'll let ya know.
I got a cute little puppy from the claw machine, I uploaded a pic into my album here if you're interested. We got new neighbors. They seem nice enough, but I'm not sure. The lady kind of worries me. Rumor has it that she has it out for Darrell since her daughter is allergic to cats. We talked to the newspaper lady who's been feeding him (she got caught in the ditch so we kept her company 'til her husband came) and she may sneak him out to her place. Apparently she's got some land since she has five horses. Oh please let her do that. I could live with not seeing him again as long as I knew he was safe.
There's another empty trailor out here now too. Which is good, cuz they had 4 or 5 big, mean pit bulls. Apparently they got busted and when the landlord was cleaning out the place he found 20lbs of dope. *sheesh* What gets me is when I noticed the place empty I wanted so badly to go in there and check it out cuz we kinda figured they were dealers, but I didn't. I shoulda, though. Man the money we coulda gotten off of that!
Not too much else going on, I guess. Working around here and still trying to find a job. I think I have an idea, but we'll have to see how it pans out. Now to go and try to catch up with the new plot.
