Orly: True Blue

(fail) I totally lost control of this mani before I even started it. Cautionary Tale: It helps to have a clear idea of what you're trying to accomplish. :p Running in blind at 2am thinking "I'll just combine magnetic polish and this here paint and see what happens" is not a valid plan. That's how you end up with this:

What is that?! I certainly do not know. Just that I have some squiggles with Orly's True Blue squiggled over Nabi Sky Blue... I used one of the Barry M magnets... It's been a long weekend and I was up late waiting to pick up my dad...

I know there was something about water and trying to enhance the magnetic design, but... that obviously did not work out at all. lol I do have some good news, though. We went by Dollar Tree and lo & behold! they had a bunch of the Milani 3D Holographic glitters!!

...okay, they had a bunch of these three colors. I don't know how many were released, or how many DT had because Aaron was getting antsy. So I grabbed one each of Hi-Res, Cyberspace and Hi-Tech. ^_^ I think tomorrow I'm going to tickle my happy place a bit (goodness knows I need it) with Hi-Tech. Which I will layer over a complimentary green and black.

Ever wonder what it looks like when a gorgeous Canadian polishaholic finally has her dream of shopping at Ulta come true? Then you're in luck! It looks just like this:

YAY!! Victory! :D And now her retelling of the events:

The sales ladies thought I was nuts! As soon as I got there they were like 'can I help you?' and I was like 'o_O POINT ME TO THE POLISH!!!!!!!!' haha THEN I started blathering to the poor check out girl about 'OMG I'm so glad I finallllly got to visit an ULTA! We don't have these in canada and I've heard sooo much about this store on the American blogs' hahahhahahahahah!!!

^_^ Awesome. Glad you finally made it. 'Tis a magical place. lol

So... yeah. Guess I should get dressed and start contemplating dinner. lol Hope everyone's having a terrific weekend! (^_^)"/"

  1. LMAO that last pictureeee, I have never been to an Ulta but it looks like they always have some great deals!
I am surprised that the milani polishes are packaged like that! Never seen polishes like that :o I guess it prevents people from trying them on or just opening them up and not tightening them properly
    Also, love the magnetic polish!

    1. hehehe Isn't it great? ^_^ Hopefully you get to visit an Ulta soon, too! We should start a petition to send Ulta to Canada. This coming Saturday they're selling Butter London on sale for $10 again. Haven't quite decided if I'm going to grab one or not.

All of the polishes at Dollar Tree are sold like this. Sally Hansen, Revlon, Sinful Colors, LA Colors... Milani... lol It's a little weird seeing them like that, but I definitely like it. Nobody messing with them and leaving them all open. ;)

    2. Hehehe thanks Jasmine! We totally should start a 'help the poor Canadians!' petition. We need an Ulta! Although if we had one close I'd always be broke - it was just that epic haha!

  2. ooh dollar store polishes! Best place ever for polish finds! Also LOLOL @ your posting of my victory pic!!! Man oh man Ulta was a place of WONDERS!! :D And right next door was a Sally's Beauty (which we do have in Canada but...IMHO doesn't hold a candle to Ulta!). That plus my American drug store hauls made this trip awesome. Kudos to my Mr. for putting up with me insisting we stop in every drug store in sight hahahah. Also - WHOOT WHOOT ULTAAAAAAAAAA!!

  3. Woohoo!!! Coupons are always exciting. :D Well, polish coupons are exciting. lol Other coupons are merely helpful. That's so weird, I wonder if they do that on purpose. I know of three Ultas that are RIGHT next to a Sally's. o_O They're trying to make us broke. lol *high fives* for the Mr. Thanks for being such a good sport, Mr. Norma!

    1. Oooh! Good luck! Hope you find some awesome polishes. ^_^ You can actually find magnetic polishes fairly cheap now. The 'trend' fizzled out kind of quickly. :/ Which... sucks but it doesn't. I still love the magnetic effect, but I think I have enough colors to keep me occupied. Unlike the glitter crackle that I need more of! lol

    2. Ahh trends. Here today gone ... erm the same day ;) The good thing though is once the trend fizzles you can get 'em cheap and when it resurfaces again (you know - ooh this is sooo retro! and it comes back in style?) you'll have em and prob got to enjoy some saweet discounts too! :)

I thought companies could've done sooooo much more with crackles. It seemed like all the companies jumped on board that trend but released the same boring colours!

    3. Yeah! I'll never understand why people hate on trends. There are so many good things about them. And if you honestly just don't like it, then pass! No big deal.
