Wood Grain & Hair Pt 2 & Bronze Eyeshadow

Oh my! lol So I'm starting with this sort of wood grain nail art. It's a base for something else I saw on facebook which I will link to when I get there. She did hers over blue, I thought this would be a little more fun.

It took me a while to go through all of my 'browns' to find the 'perfect' colors. Finally I settled on essence Nude It and Julep "Forest Glen". (mystery polish that couldn't remain unnamed) Started with a base of Nude It (duh) and used "Forest Glen" and a striping brush to lightly get the grain lines.

I had to add the "knot" to kind of reinforce the woodness since it was looking like nothing in particular. "What does that have to do with Dave Coulier?" You know, cuz on Full House his character had that woodchuck puppet and the punchline to every joke had something to do with woooooood?. Moving on...

Didn't get quite as much sun, but I did have a fresh pair of batteries in my camera and even though the top one is out of focus I think it gives a better indication of the sort of color I'm rockin' at the moment. The second picture reinforces that with the totally unintentional rainbow effect.

I'm glad this one was so cheap because I'm... 95% certain I'll be picking up a bottle of blue. I will also enlist Aaron's help for better coverage. Nearly two decades of dying my own hair and I still suck at it. lol I may have to redo this bronze eyeshadow... I used primer for the pics and it seems a lot lighter than it has been? Anybody have that happen?

That is essence 56 'Skeye and Sand'. Sparkling effect. :p As opposed to that metallic effect that was only the top layer, the shimmer in this one is throughout. I'm pretty sure I found this one in the main display. ......87% sure.

Just for kicks, here's a picture of Jet playing "Sentinel" while I take my pictures.

And one of me and my baby boy Icarus. Because he was there and I thought "why not?". lol

He's also the only one I can pick up and maneuver with one hand. lol

So tomorrow is Day 2 of this little nail art. Want another hint? It'll probably be about the last thing you'd want to happen to hardwood floors. hehehe Uhm.... *thinks*... OH YEAH!! Duh! I got my replacement kit with a fresh bottle of Crisp White in the mail yesterday. lol All the rest of the stuff is paint free duplicates of the paint covered stuff I already have so in the interest of not being a greedy little hoarder that means it's giveaway time again! I will be giving away the paint free duplicates and since the nail paints are water based I can open up the giveaway internationally! *throws confetti* I... uh... don't have anything set up for it yet. Just letting you know there will be one in the very near future. lol Also! Would you prefer one big prize with the decals and the paints, or separate them into two smaller prizes for two winners? Let me know! Hope everyone had a great weekend!! (^_^)"/"

  4. OOH! International friendly giveaway! *dances* Two smaller giveaways please - yanno, since you asked my humble O and all :)

Dude I love LOVE the hair!

Humm the shadow - do you mean it's brighter than when you used it without primer? Cause if so that just means the primer is doing it's job :)

    1. lol Not really brighter... just lighter. I'll reswatch it and see if maybe it was just my mind, but it definitely seemed more pigmented without the primer.

hehehe Alrighty, two smaller prizes it is. ^_^ More fun that way anyway.

    2. I was all set to go out and purchase some wood grain nail wraps...I need skills I guess. They would be perfect with my pink camo shirt. I love black cats. They are so beautiful and it always looks like they are deep in thought. I loved my black and white kitty too.

    3. Eh you don't need that much skills. When it comes to freehand nail art I fairly well SUCK. If I can do it, you absolutely can do it! They are gorgeous. lol Mine always look like they're about to be up to something. ;)
