Broadway Nails: Sunshine Disco & Sour Apple

Hey, guys. So we've been taking random trips to the Dollar General. I've opted to sit in the car while Aaron runs in (the stores are pretty tiny so there's really no point in an extra body getting in the way) and the last two times he's surprised me with nail polishes. They're only $1 each and I know from experience that cheap can be just as good as (in some cases better than) the more expensive offerings, so... yeah. Some goodness.

I started out with the neon yellow Sunshine Disco; two coats over white. We ran into a streak of foul weather so these pics are taken indoors.

The formula was pretty nice and didn't take too long to dry. It's not the brightest neon yellow ever (that honor still belongs to Sinful Colors Neon Melon) but it is pretty dang bright.

In an attempt to combat the blahs I reached for Sour Apple next. Again, two coats over white.

Like how I haven't even felt up to chopping down my claws? *eye roll* I'll definitely be getting to that tonight...

Sour Apple behaved nicely as well and is definitely an eye-catching green. Even the guy who changes the oil in my car commented on them.

So... yeah, okay. My unworn pile here is getting out of control again. I do have Virgo on the way and will make every effort to post that in a timely manner. I do know what I'm wearing next and will try to get that up before the end of the month. Best of luck to those of you returning to school, and I hope that all of you are well. Take care of yourselves. (^_^)"/"

ILNP: Missed Calls

Hey! I'm here. It's been raining like crazy for three days here in Central Texas, so... no Pokemon walking to distract me today. So let me share with you the gorgeousness that is ILNP's Missed Calls:

Two coats, fast dry time. I'm always so happy that despite the price ($10-12.50USD) I've never felt like I've wasted my money on an ILNP polish.

Now... I had two videos of this, but photobucket has been a real pita lately. Also, the video is sideways... kind of on purpose. I was totally going to take fresh videos, but I guess I forgot. Sorry!

Isn't that so pretty?! Super black and super sparkly.

Still working on that neon water marble. Despite my many many neons I'm having a hard time finding ones that want to play nicely in the water. I think I've almost got it, though... just need to pick up more scotch tape. *eye roll* Y'all take care out there. (^_^)"/"

Sinful Shine: Prosecco + Water Marble

Okay, what are we doing? Oh, right... hehehe We're starting off with two coats of Sinful Shine (filed under "Sinful Colors" on my stash page and spreadsheet since... well... it's Sinful Colors) which is another precious gifted to me by the amazingly wonderful Leigh Anne:

Sure it's a little sheer, but I knew I could use it as a base for something and the gold sparklies make the VNL less obvious.

True story: I actually didn't need to do any clean up this time! Painted them just like that. *thumbs up*

So... I've been wanting to do a water marble for a while now, but what happened the other morning I can only describe as a temporary insanity. I had picked out some nice Sinful Colors creams in grey, brown and pink; I had tested them and have had them out for a few days now. However. When I went to do my nails I found myself digging through my China Glaze drawer and for reasons that are beyond me I grabbed Poetic and Secret Peri-wink-le.

Thankfully they worked out in the end. I did have some issues with Poetic not wanting to spread and also cleaning out the cup because of the little metallic bits. It's not the most pain-in-my-ass water marble (that prize still goes to this Satin Glam gorgeousness), but it was still fairly frustrating.

See my pinkie there? That's what happens when you don't test your colors first. lol I was thinking veins of the purple, but the bronze overpowered it. So I had to adjust my rings. No big deal really, except one mismatched finger. Sandy wanted me to do neon and I definitely think I'm going to do that next. It feels like I haven't worn neon in a while...

Since I've kind of resigned myself to being on the computer all day making money I'm going to try really hard to get ILNP Missed Calls posted in the next couple of days. Hrm... sadly it doesn't look like the neons that Aaron got for me want to spread in the water... I've still got plenty to try so no worries. Like you're worried... *ahem* Time to get back to the moneymaking since I'm perpetually broke here lately... *sigh*... y'all take care out there and hopefully I'll see you in a couple of days! Julep: Wilma & Leo

I was actually going to get this up last night, but we had an impromptu rescue mission in Dallas. The mission was successful and everything is okay so here I am now with two Juleps! Starting off with two coats of Wilma:

I was very pleasantly surprised that the formula for this was pretty great. I had absolutely no issues and it covered really nicely.

I was also pleasantly surprised that Wilma is a pink and gold duochrome! What?!

I went ahead and used Wilma as a base for Leo so I'm not sure if this one is opaque or not.

Leo is a gorgeous regal gold with a nice formula as well. My only issues came from six coats (including base and top) of polish. The pics came out okay, but my thumb had some issues.... *ahem* Anyway...

What's that? Another duochrome?! Gold and green on this one.

So this was fun and full of surprises and I'm glad that Leo the polish lives up to Leo the sign.

I still have some swatches, but I really want to do a water marble. It's been too long. I have my colors picked out it's just so hot I'm having a hard time focusing on doing it. So... wish me luck and I'll see you guys again soon. (^_^)"/"
